We have transitioned from our blog to a website sdinsulinpumpers.org. Check out the website and new content. The monthly newsletter and meeting Zoom link are posted by the 6th of each month.
IN PERSON: We hold our in-person meeting at the Sharp Spectrum Building in Kearny Mesa at 8695 Spectrum Center Drive from 7–9 pm. We have a new meeting space at the Sharp Spectrum building. Starting in January 2025 we moved to a new boardroom. It is on the left side of the main lobby and has an outside direct entrance from the parking lot. The room will open at 6:30 pm for visiting before the meeting. The walkway to the outside entrance is in front of the handicap parking and has a railing along the sidewalk.
VIA ZOOM: Please join us via Zoom if you can’t attend in person. The meeting link is posted below. As always, significant others, friends, and family supporters are welcome at the meeting.

This Month: Luke Bailey from Twiist Pumps will give us an update on the Twiist Pump. Bring your questions! We will have Open Discussion if time permits after the presentation.
Last Month: Lola Gugerty, Shaughnessy Comstock and Ceseana Marzouk from Dexcom gave us the latest updates on Dexcom Sensors. G6 Sensors will be phased out by the end of the summer. G7 sensors will continue to be available. The new G7 15-day sensor will be available soon. The G7-15 has some differences from the G7. It requires a 1 hour warm up and is more accurate. It can be used with Apple watch without a phone. With Android watches you will need your phone with you. Not approved for use with Tandem pumps yet. The G7-15 is waterproof in up to 8 feet of water. For easier sensor replacement requests have the following information to give Customer Service. The Lot # and serial # Line #21 on box is the serial number.
You can get emergency replacement sensors through pharmacy benefit. You will need to set this up before traveling to get quickly if needed on a trip. Contact Dexcom for a voucher.

Tandem Pumps Special Event
Need help with Tandem software updates? Tandem reps will be available at this event to help with software updates for both t:slim (we’ll supply the required computer and cord) and Mobi pumps (updated on your phone).
When: Tuesday July 21st
Where: Carmel Mountain Library Community room, 3919 Townsgate Drive
Time: 11:40am to 2:15pm (the library opens at 11:30 am
Directions: Take the Del Mar Heights exit off 5 freeway, go east to El Camino Real, turn right on El Camino Real, go past the shopping center, then turn left onto Townsgate Drive.
Requirements: Bring the following:
- – Username and password for your Tandem account
- – At least 90 units in your t:slim pump
- – At least 50 units in your Mobi pump
- – A new Libre sensor if you are using Libre 3+ with t:alim
- – Enough insulin for one site change, one infusion set, one cartridge, and
alcohol swabs

Taking Control Of Your Diabetes transforms the way people live with and manage diabetes through the best live conferences, programs, and events. Sign up on TCOYD.org for their new Video Drop AP ( Advanced Placement Sessions). TCOYD will email you these sessions to watch at your convenience. They frequently drop new videos, so check it out!

JICHI Patient Innovator Program
UCSD has a new JICHI Patient Innovator program at the Jacobs Center for Health Innovation. Heidi Rataj reached out to us asking for pumpers who are interested.
Heidi first interviewed pumpers at a meeting over 10 years ago; Margi has done several studies with her before Covid. This looks like a great opportunity to have your voice heard regarding patient care with diabetes.

Starting January 2026, our E-Meet & Greet for Adults will meet the 4th Wed of every month at 12:00 pm Pacific Time.
Hopefully, this will lead to a lot easier and consistent calendaring than having it meet every four weeks.

Grownup T1Ds
Check out website grownupt1ds.org for events in So Cal, Denver, Atlanta, New York and Boston. The Grownup T1Ds in-person meetups are for adults living with type 1 diabetes. These afternoons are relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely uplifting – the kind where conversations flow easily, laughter comes quickly, and you leave feeling lighter than when you arrived. No agenda. Connected in Motion
SoCal Slipstream 2026 is an adult T1D “summer camp” weekend being held this year on October 16-18. This one is local, at a campground in Imperial Beach. Similar to the ONE Conference, they have lots of talks, lots of activity, and lots of camaraderie, but with camp cabins instead of hotel rooms. They provide a fun, educational, and relaxing weekend conquering T1.
